Families play together on the four pickleball courts — friendly family tournaments are a favorite — then cool off in the pool, relax in the rocking chairs around the property, sway in a hammock, or gather on the balcony to take in the view. Because Bella Vista sits on top of a mountain, you get truly rare 360° views across an immense valley all the way to the ocean, with some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets in all of Costa Rica — something most properties simply can't offer. Guests even pick fresh fruit from the trees on the grounds, including our five mango trees and coconut palms.

Where the Villa Is & Getting There
Bella Vista is about 1 hour 15 minutes from San José International Airport (SJO), on paved roads the whole way right to the front of the property — so you can arrive in any type of vehicle. It sits in the mountains of central Costa Rica between San Ramón and Esparza.
A quick local tip: when you come through customs, they'll ask how long you're staying and where. Just tell them you're staying at Bella Vista Private Resort between San Ramón and Esparza.
The nearest beach is only a 30–40 minute drive away: Playa Caldera, where you can catch a beautiful sunset, swim in warm water, and grab shish kebabs and ice cream from the food stands along the sand.
And because Bella Vista is so central, it becomes your home base for day trips — a couple hours to La Fortuna (volcano and hot springs) and a few hours to Manuel Antonio, one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

Yes — Bella Vista is a whole-property buy-out. Your group has the entire private estate (four homes, up to 28 guests) to yourselves.
Is it all-inclusive? Do you have a private chef?
We can create a nearly all-inclusive experience — our on-site caretaker can act as your private chef and prepare daily meals, and we can arrange airport pickup and transportation (meals and transport are extra).
